Brown v. Board of Education was more
than just the struggle of a father to get his daughter accepted to their neighborhood
all-white school. The case eventually argued in front of the Supreme Court
actually combined five cases from several states challenging the "separate
but equal" ruling by the Supreme Court almost 60 years before Brown.
The events leading up to Brown and the progress made after
the decision, significantly contributed to today's inclusive and diverse public
education. The following timeline highlights the decisions and events that
