General Sessions to Cover Innovation, Politics, and Effective Leadership
By Vanessa St. Gerard

You won't want to miss the keynote speakers NAESP has lined up for this year's convention. We have an amazing mix of keynoters who are sure to leave you wanting more.

Author and independent business consultant Daniel Pink will offer what you can do now to help your students learn the skills they will need in the future. Pink's latest book, A Whole New Mind, charts the rise of right-brain thinking in modern economies and explains the six abilities individuals and organizations must master in an outsourced and automated world. Learn from the expert on innovation, competition, and the world of work during the Opening General Session on Saturday, April 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Can't get enough of the 2008 presidential elections? Well, political pundits James Carville and Mary Matalin will give attendees insight from both political parties and share personal experiences from the campaign trail. Carville and Matalin also will participate in a Q&A with members of the audience. Join them on Sunday, April 6 during the Second General Session at 1 p.m.

The Third General Session will feature Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch on Monday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m. Breaking barriers and setting records in the military, retired Lt. Col. Kickbusch rose to senior officer position and became the highest-ranking Hispanic woman in the Combat Support Field of the U.S. Army. Kickbusch carries her powerful message of what it takes to be an effective leader in today's global marketplace as the founder of Educational Achievement Services Inc.

All General Sessions will take place in the Delta Ballroom in the convention center. Following each session, the speaker will be signing books in the National Principals Resource Center (NPRC) bookstore (located in the exhibit hall).

Each of the speaker's books are also available online at the NPRC Web site, www.naesp.org/nprc.
